Push notifications

Turn on browser push so alerts reach you with the app closed, and use the notification panel to catch up on what you missed.

Push is free, instant, and arrives with the browser closed. Before paying for SMS, turn this on.

There are two surfaces, and they are not the same thing:

Push — a notification from your operating system, whether or not Yipii is open.
The notification panel — the bell in the header, which keeps a record of everything whether or not you saw the push.

Turn push on

Open Settings → Notifications.

The browser asks for permission the first time. Allow it. This is a browser prompt, not a Yipii one, so it looks different in Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Switch on PUSH against the rows you care about. Each row has independent EMAIL and PUSH switches, so you can have quiet email and loud push, or the reverse.

Permission is granted per browser, per device. Turning push on for your laptop does nothing for your phone. Do it once on each device you actually want to be interrupted on.

What this tab does and doesn't cover

The rows here are system notifications — subscription expiry, service overdue, document expiry, password reset and changed, new device login, magic link sent, account invitation, email verification.

Fleet alerts — speeding, geofences, temperature, power — are configured per alert, with their own recipients and their own channels. Push is one of the channels available there. Nothing on this tab switches them on or off.

That split catches people out: you can have every switch here on and still receive nothing about a speeding vehicle, because no speeding alert exists.

The notification panel

Click the bell in the header. The badge on it is the unread count.

Four tabs:

Tab	Holds
All	Everything, newest first
Alerts	Fleet events from your configured alerts
Events	Operational notices — document expiry, service reminders, SIM data, subscription
Info	Account and system activity — password changes, new device logins, announcements

Notifications are colour-coded by severity, so a power cut or a tamper reads differently from an ignition event at a glance.

Dismiss one with the X that appears on hover, or clear the lot with Mark all read. Clicking the body of a notification marks it read and takes you to whatever it is about.

The panel is the safety net. Push can be missed — phone face-down, laptop asleep, permission never granted — and the panel still has the record.

Installing as an app

Yipii IoT installs as a PWA. On a phone that gives you an icon on the home screen and more reliable push delivery than a browser tab; on desktop it gives you a window of its own.

The install prompt appears in the browser's address bar or share menu, depending on the browser.
