A new dashboard that briefs you on your fleet, a Get set up checklist, richer live-location links, recorded dashcam footage, remote vehicle control, and traffic and airspace on the map.
Picking up where our summer release left off: a dashboard rebuilt around the questions you ask at the start of the day, a short checklist that gets every user set up properly, share links your customers will actually enjoy receiving, recorded dashcam footage, remote vehicle control for CAN-equipped vehicles, and live traffic and airspace on the map.
A Dashboard That Briefs You
Your fleet at a glance, on one screen
The Dashboard tab has been rebuilt from the ground up. It opens with a personal greeting and a one-line summary of what has happened since you last looked — for example, "Since 07:10: 3 alerts and 14 trips" — and every figure in that sentence opens the detail behind it. Beneath it sit three columns: a briefing and a "Needs attention" list, a live map with your fleet's performance, and what is coming up. On a laptop it fits on one screen; on a phone it becomes a single scrolling column.
Needs attention, and what you have dealt with
"Needs attention" lists the vehicles that want a look today, with their plates, how serious each item is, and what to do about it. When something is dealt with, mark it as handled or snooze it until later today, tomorrow morning or next week. It leaves the list for everyone on your account at once, and the foot of the list shows who handled what, with an Undo. A handled item comes back after a week if the problem is still there, and anything that gets worse always comes back straight away.
How the fleet performed, and where the week went
The performance panel shows distance, idle cost, vehicles in use and trips, each compared with the week before, and Yipster's briefing now tells you what changed most rather than repeating the list beside it. The map card can switch between where your vehicles are now, where they idle, and where they go — tap a hotspot to see which vehicles spent time there. An hour-by-hour heatmap shows when your fleet is busiest, and every chart opens a side panel that drills down from the hour, to the vehicles, to a single vehicle's day, to its driver.
Coming up, recent alerts and unused vehicles
The third card has three tabs. Coming up shows servicing and documents that are due. Alerts shows everything that fired in the last 24 hours, grouped by rule, with each trigger's vehicle, place and time. Not used lists vehicles that have not made a trip in the past week, so under-used assets are easy to spot.
Choose where Yipii opens
A new "Open on" choice in the account menu lets each person decide whether Yipii opens on the Dashboard or on the Map. New users now start on the Dashboard; everyone else keeps the Map until they choose otherwise.
Get Set Up
A checklist for every user
A short "Get set up" checklist now helps each person get the most out of Yipii: turn on alerts on your computer, turn on alerts on your phone, create your first alert, and share a live location link. A step ticks itself off when the thing actually exists — not when a button is clicked — so the checklist always tells the truth about where you are.
Always there, never in the way
You will find it as a single row under the dashboard greeting with a progress ring and the next step, as a small pill on the map, and in the account menu. It never pops up in the middle of your work. A QR code opens the checklist on your phone, so turning on phone alerts takes a few seconds. You can hide it at any time and reopen it from the account menu.
Less clutter elsewhere
Tips and nudges that were rarely used have been removed. Send feedback and Refer a friend now live in the account menu instead of floating over the screen.
Live Location Links Your Customers Will Love
See the path, not just the dot
Shared tracking pages now draw the path the vehicle has just travelled, so recipients can tell at a glance that the page is live. The trail is on by default and you can choose how far back it goes, from five minutes to two hours.
Temperature and humidity for sensitive cargo
For vehicles with a temperature or humidity sensor fitted, you can choose to show the live reading on the shared page — and, if you set an acceptable range, whether the load is holding within it. Ideal for food and pharmaceutical deliveries, where the tracking page becomes proof for your own customer.
Notify me, arrival pages and ratings
Recipients can now tap "Notify me" to receive a notification when the vehicle is nearly there and when it arrives, instead of keeping a tab open. When a link ends because the vehicle arrived, the recipient sees a clear arrival page with the arrival time and journey duration, which they can come back to for a week. They can also rate the job with one tap, and ratings roll up by vehicle and driver.
Branded previews, QR codes and safer access
When a link is shared in WhatsApp or another messaging app, the preview now shows what is being tracked and your company's logo and colour. Every link gets a QR code, and the share dialog now explains each setting in plain terms. Links restricted to approved email addresses now confirm the viewer's address with a one-time code, and links created for a route automatically take on that route's access settings and schedule.
Recorded Dashcam Footage
Live and Recorded, side by side
For supported dashcams, the camera view in the Asset Command Center now has a Live and a Recorded toggle. Recorded lists the footage available for the period you choose and plays it in place, with a download option wherever a download exists.
Know where a recording is kept
Each recording is labelled with where it is stored. Footage still on the camera needs the vehicle to be online and is eventually overwritten; footage already uploaded is kept and plays even when the vehicle is parked. You can see the difference before you promise anyone a clip.
Cameras installed like any other tracker
Installers now add a camera the same way as a tracker: scan it, pick the vehicle, done. The installer app shows a live view from the camera during fitting, so it can be aimed correctly before the installer leaves.
Remote Vehicle Control
Lock, unlock and authorise drivers
For vehicles fitted with a supported CAN adapter, a new Control tab in the Asset Command Center lets you lock and unlock the vehicle remotely and manage who is allowed to drive it. You authorise people, not tag numbers — pick a driver and every tag they carry is authorised together. A quick lock strip also sits under the vehicle's name in the right sidebar, so you do not need to open the full panel to secure a vehicle you can already see.
Doors, locks and seatbelts
Vehicles with a CAN adapter that reports them now show door, boot and bonnet status, central locking and front seatbelts in the sidebar. Only what the vehicle actually reports is shown, so there are no guessed values.
The immobiliser says what it knows
Immobiliser status now distinguishes between a command that was sent and the vehicle confirming it, and between a vehicle that is still being brought to a stop and one that has stopped. If a vehicle cannot be reached, the panel says so rather than suggesting the equipment is not fitted.
Drivers, Phones and Timesheets
A phone is shown as a person
When a driver's phone is used as a tracker, Yipii now presents it as a person rather than a vehicle: a person marker on the map, a simple Moving or Stopped status, the driver and shift, and when the phone was last heard from. Vehicle-only readings such as power and engine data no longer appear for phones.
Breaks and private time on the timesheet
When a driver switches their app to private mode, for example during a break, that period now appears on their timesheet, so managers can see when someone stepped out of tracking and for how long.
Messages that arrive, both ways
Messages sent to a driver from the console now reliably notify them in the driver app, and their replies appear back in the console. A driver's seat and access status is now shown as one clear status with the actions beside it, each named for what it does.
Traffic and Airspace on the Map
Live traffic incidents
Turn on Waze Traffic from Integrations and your live map can show accidents, hazards, road closures, roadworks, weather hazards and congestion, each as its own layer you can switch on or off from the map's Layers menu. Traffic data is included with Yipii by default, with no extra account needed.
Drones and aircraft
Customers who operate drones can connect their own Dronetag account to see nearby drones and aircraft on the map in real time. The map now tells you whether the sky is genuinely quiet or whether no data is arriving.
Alerts Reach Your Other Systems
Webhooks and Zapier
Alerts can now be delivered to a webhook or to Zapier, alongside email, push and WhatsApp. Each delivery is signed so your systems can trust it, and failed deliveries are retried automatically.
Reports and Yipster
Totals where you need them
Activity and mileage reports now include a grand total across every vehicle and day you select, plus a subtotal per vehicle, in the on-screen table as well as in PDF, Excel and HTML exports. The report date range now works like a proper form field with a clear calendar and time picker, the kilometre report is much faster, and sensor reports for coolant temperature, RPM and oil temperature return data again.
Yipster, closer to hand
Ask Yipster has moved to the right-hand side of the screen, where it sits beside your map and vehicles. Yipster can now also answer fleet-wide questions such as "Who idled the most yesterday?" in one go.
